CRYSTALLIZATION

Some commercial inorganic materials are produced by crystallization, whereby the solution is concentrated and the material crystallizes in a purified form. Hazen has performed the necessary laboratory experiments and pilot plant operations to provide vendors with the data necessary to design commercial crystallizers. Our experience has included recovering metal salts and trona from solutions.

Crystallization is used extensively to remove impurities and recover valuable minerals from brines in solar ponds. Hazen can perform evaporation experiments in the lab to determine how to best recover valuable minerals by solar evaporation.
