HEALTH AND SAFETY
All studies performed at our facility are conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Hazen Safety Plan and Chemical Hygiene Plan. These plans address the general health and safety procedures that employees and visitors are required to follow and are in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations found in 29 CFR Part 1910. Upon award of the project, Hazen prepares a project-specific health and safety plan to address the personal safety of employees and visitors, operational safety, and environmental safety. Every program conducted at the pilot-system level is also the subject of a compulsory safety inspection prior to startup. All personnel assigned to a project are required to have completed a minimum of 24 hours of OSHA safety training, with a current eight hours of annual update training. Other project-specific safety requirements, including the requisite level of protection for operating personnel and visiting clients, monitoring of the surrounding environment, and any other special requirements, are addressed by the Hazen Project Manager and the Manager of Safety and Environmental Affairs.
